Hi, my name is DeNika. I am a peer and I work with other peers in Calling All Youth. Because of quarantine, everything has been off, but at the same time, it’s new. Because of this virus, my daily life is affected. I can’t get a job. Mostly everything is shut down and the things that are open are not essential, so I can’t work there.
Social distancing…omg has been hard! I want to chill with my friends again. Even going out and wearing a mask is annoying because you can’t talk clearly when wearing it. Hopefully this ends soon so we can all go back to school and get out the house.
The best part about quarantine for me is getting time for myself. I watch a lot of TV. The worst part is not being able to do what I want because of the restrictions.
One of the changes I know and notice around me is that nature is at its best, in my opinion. Like a bloom the air seems fresher, there are less cars on the roads, it just looks nice out…and it’s quiet, besides ambulances I hear every now and then. What I learned about this life experience during the pandemic and quarantine is to enjoy the little things in life because it can be short and you never know what will happen. has been hard!
